Amber Hennes Dressage

Strong performance in Germany and selection for European Junior Championships 🐴

The past few weeks have been all about two special competitions in Germany for Amber Hennes and her horse Allegro. And what an experience it was once again! From a great team performance in Hagen to an unforgettable week at CHIO Aachen – capped off with the cherry on top: their selection for the European Championship at the end of July in Le Mans. 💥

Future Champions – Hagen (June 12-15)

The first German competition of the season took place in Hagen during the prestigious Future Champions event. It’s a large, impressive competition featuring exceptionally strong participants from all over Europe. Amber was genuinely proud to be part of Team Belgium in the juniors alongside Anna Peeters and Charlotte Blevi. In the team contest, they earned a lovely silver medal, just behind Germany. 🇩🇪🥈

Individually, Amber achieved 5th place in all three tests. She had solid rides overall, though she felt there was still a bit more potential to tap into. A few areas for improvement were noted, and they returned home with extra motivation.

Selection for the Junior European Championship – Le Mans (July 28 – August 3)

In mid-June, the fantastic news arrived: Amber and Allegro have been selected to represent Belgium at the Junior European Championship 2025 in Le Mans. 🇫🇷

This will be their third participation in a European Championship, but their first time in the junior category. In 2021 and 2022, they competed in the children category, finishing 9th and 4th, respectively. It feels truly special to once again be on the European Championship stage with her loyal partner Allegro. They are fully committed to making it a strong championship — the preparations are in full swing.

CHIO Aachen – a dream come true (June 30 – July 6)

As if that wasn’t enough, Amber and Allegro were also able to compete at CHIO Aachen in early July. A total dream! ✨ Just being able to ride as a junior at such a historic event – in the grand dressage stadium, in front of packed stands – it was truly breathtaking.

Amber competed in two tests alongside 11 other selected juniors from around the world. In the Individual test, everything went just as hoped: Allegro was super attentive, allowing her to ride relaxed, and the communication felt strong. They ended with a beautiful 3rd place. 🥉

The Kür was a bit less smooth. Both Allegro and Amber lost focus momentarily, resulting in two mistakes. In such a competitive field, this unfortunately cost them some positions, but the enthusiasm from the audience made up for it. So much applause, all around the arena — it was truly a joy.

On to Le Mans!

Thanks to coach Kristin, her family, sponsors, and supporters. And most importantly: thanks to Allegro – still her very best partner. 💖

Amber and her team are counting down to the European Championship. To be continued!
